Phil Garcia • Artist, Father & War Veteran
Born in San Diego, I was a military brat that grew up in southern Spain from 1981 until I moved to Oxnard CA in 1988. I was a bored child so drawing and other arts kept me from trouble. Besides art I grew up surfing Hueneme Beach. I am a local from that beach and if you surf you know what I’m talking about.
After High School, I joined the US Navy Seabees. I served proudly for 8 1/2 years and had the opportunity to travel the world. I fought in the Iraq war in 2003 and returned a changed man. After the war I realized that I can only control myself and not the masses. I came back scarred, motivated, and best yet in love with my wife Angela who I married Jan 16th 2004, exactly one year after I went to Iraq.
I am a proud Father of three, two boys and a beautiful daughter, they fill my life with so much joy and are the reason I work so hard.
